1. Sunshine
This was recorded sometime in the 1980's on a cassette tape recorder. Also playing is my brother, Whiff. One Christmas Whiff got a banjo and I got a mandolin. I never learned how to play the mandolin.
2. Dear Amelia - listen to sample
Recorded soon after my daughter Amelia was born in January, 1990. My friend Jeremy was over and we woke up Amelia. We decided to make a song for her. We had a verse and chorus, but you will hear the rest of the song being made up during the recording. This is a very simple minded song. I'm certain we had been drinking. Recorded in my living room on a cassette tape recorder.
3. Kristin and Billy
I recorded this with Whiff in 1990. We borrowed a 4 track so I could make a song for my friends, Kristin Hersh and her husband Billy. For some reason I used to think Nonnie's name was Hunny. Several years ago at the Bluebird Theatre, Nonny danced on stage with Jello Biafra while we played Kristin and Billy.
4. Untitled
I have updated information about this song. This was recorded in Boston in 1989 or 1990 at my friend Wright Maney's practice space on Sue Vorenberg's 4 track recorder. Judy Winters is playing bass.
5. Uncle John's Boat - listen to sample
This song is a true story that happened on my Uncle John's Boat. We have tried to include this song on a few Auto Club records. It works very hard, but never finds a way. I have another band with Dwight and Munly called The Denver Broncos UK. Uncle John's Boat has become a Denver Broncos song. Here is the original version recorded at Bob Ferbrache's house a few years ago. Notice, thanks to Bob, this one sounds very nice.
6. Things I Believe In
Recorded in my living room in Cranston Rhode Island several years ago. Also a true story. |

1. Last Song About Satan CTK-515
This was recorded on a Casio CTK-515. God only knows when and why. I still use this track occasionally as my back up band during solo performances.
2. Peace In The Valley
This was recorded sometime in the 1980's on a cassette tape recorder in Denver, Colorado. Also playing and singing is my brother, Whiff.
3. So Lonesome I Could Cry
Recorded perhaps the same day as Peace In The Valley on a cassette tape recorder with my brother Whiff.
4. Help Me Make It Through The Night - listen to sample
This was recorded in Boston in 1988 on a borrowed 4-track recorder that I did not know how to use. I wanted to use this as a demo to find people who might want to make music with me in Boston. It did not work - but I do like how it sounds like the insides of a soup can.
5. I Am a Sinner
This song was recorded in my living room in Cranston, Rhode Island several years ago.
6. United Longmont - listen to sample
New song sneek preview. Unlike the other songs on both Rare Recording Volumes, this was written and recorded very recently. At some point it may end up in the Auto Club. Recorded in Pittsburgh, PA in 2007 on a Macintosh Computer.
